About Danielle

Real advice from someone
who lives it.

Hi, I'm Danielle — a licensed Registered Dietitian/Nutritionist based in Raleigh, NC. I live here with my husband, three kids, and our dog. It's a full house — and yes, I still find time to run.

I've been competing in marathons and ultramarathons for over 20 years. Dozens of races, including ultras. I know what it means to fuel a body under real pressure — not from a textbook, but from 4am training runs and mid-race bonks that taught me more than any classroom could.

That background shapes everything about how I work with clients. Whether you're training for your first 5K or your tenth 50-miler, managing a GI condition, exploring plant-forward eating, or navigating a GLP-1 medication — I bring the same philosophy: find what works for your body, your life, and your goals.

For some people that means cheeseburgers. For others it's a green juice. I'm not here to judge either one. I'm here to help you find balance and actually enjoy eating again.

GLP-1 Nutrition Counseling — Raleigh NC

On Ozempic or Wegovy?
The medication is one piece.
Nutrition is the other.

GLP-1 medications like Ozempic, Wegovy, Mounjaro, and Zepbound are powerful tools — but they work best with structured nutrition guidance alongside them. Most prescribers don't have time to provide it. Danielle does.

  • Managing nausea, constipation, and other GI side effects through strategic eating
  • Protecting lean muscle mass while losing weight — critical and often overlooked
  • Meeting protein and nutrient needs with a significantly reduced appetite
  • Building sustainable eating habits that work after the medication, not just during it
  • Setting realistic expectations and preventing common relapse patterns

Fueling advice from someone
who has actually raced.

Twenty years of marathons and ultramarathons means Danielle isn't just reading about performance nutrition — she's lived it. Mile 40 of a 50-miler teaches you things no textbook covers.

  • Recovery nutrition — what to eat and when to rebuild faster
  • Body composition goals that don't compromise performance
  • Plant-forward fueling for athletes who want to reduce or eliminate animal products
  • Hydration and electrolyte strategies for endurance events
  • Navigating nutrition around a training cycle — building, peak, taper, recovery

Meeting with Danielle was a great decision. My doctor recommended visiting a dietitian in order to lose 10 pounds. I was skeptical because I thought I already had a great diet but I learned new strategies to help lose those last few pounds.
